In March 2019, the Narada Radio Company was invited to perform at the Rockport Little Theatre, Rockport, Texas. The choice of show was mine, and I had to hold auditions from local actors, rather than choose my own regular Narada players. As a result of this, two old theatre friends appeared at auditions, and my show was blessed, because I had my "Norma Desmond". We performed only three shows, and got only two recordings, from which I offer what you see here.

It's interesting to note that we created more than 90 live sound effects in this production, many of which I invented myself. Our audiences enjoyed watching our two SFX ladies creating the sounds.

The script came originally from the "Lux Radio Theatre" adaptation, but I added dialog from the screenplay here and there; and I wrote new commercials to replace the Lux spots, but for some reason the commercials didn't record very well, so I cut them out of the final recording. The show overall doesn't suffer from this loss, however, and in fact cuts down your total listening time. Please enjoy this presentation of BIG STAGE AUDIO THEATRE! (Originally released in July or August 2019 for Sonic Summerstock Playhouse.)

"Do you dare to go down into...THE CELLAR?"

Welcome to the seventh number in our continuing horror/suspense anthology series! Our stories are either original, or inspired by, or adapted from pulp fiction and classic literature, but they're guaranteed all-new productions, and no repeats from other series. PLUS the special script-writing competition ends one week from today, on October 27th. I'm very happy to say that we've received 10 pretty solid entries and I'm looking forward to more before the deadline. The winners (there will be two) will be guaranteed slots in a future season of The Cellar.

And now...we proudly present "The Theory of Mutual Repulsion", adapted by our director/producer Pete Lutz, from a sci-fi pulp-fiction story by Margaret St Clair. Dr. Rebecca Colley is a scientist whose device was intended to end war, but the world soon learns that its effects may well end mankind!

Episode 7 -- "A Corpse for Halloween", Inner Sanctum Mysteries

Welcome to Old-Time Radio Essentials, a new podcast wherein a specific episode from a selected OTR series is presented, and then discussed by three co-hosts: Pete Lutz, Jane St. John and Paul Arbisi; to determine whether or not it meets the following criteria:

1. Is it truly representative of that series? (Can anyone point to it and say, "Yes, that is what [NAME OF SERIES] was all about.")

2. Is it an episode worthy of inclusion in any and every OTR aficionado's private collection?

So with this in mind, we three bring you, as our seventh installment (and a listener's choice from Joshua, a co-host of another OTR panel show), this episode of Inner Sanctum Mysteries from 1949. We'll introduce the show, play it in its entirety, then discuss it at length. Thanks for joining us, and we hope you enjoy it!
